In a wooded area of Panama, a newborn baby girl was rescued after being abandoned by her mother. The incident occurred on Thursday on a farm in the community of Río Sereno, Renacimiento district, Chiriquí province. Thanks to a tip-off from local residents, officers from the National Border Service (Senafront) managed to locate the infant, who was still covered in blood and had placental remnants. The baby was then transferred to the health center in Río Sereno, where medical staff determined that her condition was stable. Subsequently, the girl was taken to the José Domingo Obaldía Maternal and Child Hospital in David. It is presumed that she was born very recently. In connection with this case, the Public Ministry has initiated an investigation to locate the infant's mother, so that she can be held accountable for the crime committed.
