ABB Launches Sensi+ NG Analyzer to Monitor O₂, H₂S, H₂O, and CO₂ in a Single Device

ABB has introduced the Sensi+ NG to the market, the latest evolution of its contaminant gas monitoring system, designed specifically for the natural gas and biogas industries. This next-generation device builds on the success of its predecessor by incorporating oxygen (O2) measurement, enabling now the continuous, real-time monitoring of the four most critical gaseous contaminants in a single unit.

The Sensi+ NG analyzer now measures oxygen (O2) in natural gas and biogas, along with hydrogen sulfide (H2S), water vapor (H2O), and carbon dioxide (CO2) at trace levels. This 4-in-1 capability simplifies operations, increases productivity, and reduces maintenance costs by eliminating the need for multiple analyzers in industrial environments.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance in Gas Flows Contaminants present in natural gas pose a significant challenge for operators, as they can compromise the safety and integrity of pipelines due to corrosion. The Sensi+ NG is designed to ensure that the quality of the gas, especially biogas or biomethane before its injection into the gas network, meets the strict standards of gas pipelines, facilitating safe and reliable transportation.

Laser Technology for Instant Monitoring The Sensi+ NG analyzer incorporates ABB's innovative OA-ICOS™ laser technology, which enables near-instantaneous information and monitoring of natural gas and biogas flows. This technological capability allows for the installation of a single analyzer for multiple applications. By consolidating measurements into one device, the Sensi+ NG maximizes efficiency and operational performance.

The addition of O2 measurement capability improves process optimization, enabling early problem detection without generating false alarms or shutdowns, while maintaining regulatory compliance. The design of the Sensi+ NG eliminates the need for consumables, frequent calibration, or complex maintenance, also reducing the total number of devices required.
