Panama's President Establishes Agri-Food Specialties Center Board

Panama's President José Raúl Mulino officially installed the CEAGRO-AIP Board, concluding a seven-month process. This project aims to unite the state, academia, and producers for modern agri-food education. The program will start in April with 100 scholarship students.

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, formally installed the Board of Directors of the Center for Agri-Food Specialties (CEAGRO-AIP) during an event held in the Peace Hall of the Las Garzas Palace, consolidating one of the strategic projects of his administration to strengthen the Panamanian agri-food sector. This first official session of CEAGRO-AIP culminates a process of more than seven months of technical, institutional, and legal management that made it possible to create this Public Interest Association, conceived to articulate the State, academia, and the productive sector in a modern model of higher technical agri-food education. Mulino highlighted that the initiative is 'on the right track' and responds to the need to support national agriculture, reinforcing the training efforts already underway in Divisa and generating new opportunities for young people to see the agri-food sector as a real option for professional development. CEAGRO-AIP, which will be headquartered in the City of Knowledge, will offer two-year technical programs with agri-food specialties, focused on practical training aligned with the demands of the productive sector. The program will begin in April with a first group of 100 scholarship students, selected from over 450 pre-registered applicants.
