The Minister of Tourism, Gloria de León, highlighted that “this initiative is a clear example of how collaboration between the public and private sectors allows for the creation of innovative proposals that add real value to the visitor's experience.” The campaign is called “Panamá te regala + de $500 en beneficios,” an initiative aimed at foreign visitors that offers exclusive discounts and benefits at over 50 shops, hotels, restaurants, museums, and tourist experiences located in Panama City. The action seeks to encourage longer stays, boost tourism consumption, and enrich the visitor's experience through concrete economic advantages. The proposal stems from an initiative presented by members of the Panamanian Hotel Association (APATEL), as part of the private sector's efforts to strengthen the destination's competitiveness and generate a positive impact across the entire tourism value chain. The benefits included in the program are covered directly by the allied hotels and businesses as part of an initiative driven and financed by the private sector. “From APATEL, we drive this initiative as a concrete tool to stimulate demand, strengthen hotel occupancy, and benefit the entire tourism value chain. It is a proposal created by the industry, for the industry, with the visitor as the main beneficiary,” explained Víctor Concepción, president of the organization. A package of economic benefits, with a total estimated value exceeding $500, was launched this Tuesday as part of a strategy to attract international tourists. The benefits work like a digital coupon book that brings together a series of discounts and is activated for tourists who stay four or more nights in Panama City, applicable exclusively at participating establishments. “Panama not only offers connectivity and diversity but also benefits that invite the tourist to stay longer and explore a vibrant city full of contrasts and unique experiences.”
