The firm EY has announced the launch of a new international initiative, the EY AI & Data Challenge 2026. This competition aims to develop innovative solutions to improve water quality using artificial intelligence, data analysis, and satellite technology. University students and young professionals are invited to participate. The registration and project development phase will run until March 13, 2026. Global finalists are expected to be announced on April 1, with the winners being declared on May 6. The prize pool includes cash awards of up to $5,000 and an invitation to an international recognition event. For participants from Latin America, additional incentives include gift certificates worth up to $2,500. According to the UN, only 56% of water bodies in 120 countries have optimal quality, highlighting the urgency of developing such systems.
