This agreement focuses on the International Congress on Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Emerging Technologies (IESTEC), a high-level academic event to be held from October 21 to 23, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel, Albrook, in Panama City. A framework for academic excellence and internationalization The collaboration between UTP and IEEE represents a fundamental step to ensure that the scientific and technical advances presented at the congress meet the highest global standards. This reaffirmation took place during a formal meeting between Sean Cryan, President of Ericsson for Latin America North, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Julio Moltó, where they discussed the prospects of the investment climate and national technological development. The meeting was attended by, on the Ericsson side, Sobaan Kazi, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Latin America North and the Caribbean; Elizabeth Peña Jáuregui, Head of Regulatory Affairs and Government and Industry Relations; and Luisa Ramos, Country Manager for Ericsson Panama.
