Acodeco Inspects Scales and Prices for Seafood in Panama

The Authority for Consumer Protection and Competition Defense (Acodeco) conducted inspections of scales and visible prices for seafood at the capital's market, as well as at other distribution centers located in various parts of the country. During today's inspection at the Seafood Market, staff from Acodeco's Metrology Department reviewed a total of 13 scales, which satisfactorily passed the technical tests, ensuring that consumers receive the correct weight in their purchases. These actions are part of the operations the agency carries out during Holy Week, a season when fish and seafood consumption increases significantly. The objective is to verify compliance with consumer protection standards and promote transparent commercial practices. Acodeco reminds consumers that the prices of seafood are subject to market supply and demand.
