Panama projects the entry of at least 15,000 travelers daily between Wednesday, April 1, and Sunday, April 5, for Holy Week. The Tocumen International Airport reported that a high flow of passengers is expected during this Holy Week period of 2026, with a projection of 78,332 passengers for arrivals and departures. The airport administration detailed that 40,932 passengers correspond to departures, while 37,400 will arrive in Panamanian territory, reflecting an average of 15,666 travelers per day. "We know that during Holy Week, many people travel to reunite with their family or take a break, which is why we have strengthened coordination with the entire airport community to offer a smooth, orderly, and safe experience from the moment they arrive at Tocumen," said José Ruiz, the airport's manager, according to a press release. It was reported that the highest traffic will occur on Sunday, April 5, when the transit of 9,705 passengers on departures and 8,876 on arrivals is estimated. The international destinations with the highest demand are Bogotá and Medellín, in Colombia; San José, in Costa Rica; and Miami, in the United States. Likewise, it was indicated that airlines recommend passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight's departure to complete check-in, baggage drop, security controls, migration, customs, and gate location processes.
