The official commemorative events for the 122nd anniversary of the Republic of Panama began on November 3rd with the solemn flag-raising ceremony at the Palace of the Herons. The event, held at 7:00 a.m., was led by President José Raúl Mulino, accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, and cabinet ministers, continuing the traditional dawn ceremonies that echoed earlier at the Palace of the Herons. Following the flag-raising, President Mulino handed the national flag to the official standard-bearer for the occasion, Rodolfo Raúl Moreno Cruz. Moreno Cruz, CEO of Empresas Moreno, represents a group with over 75 years of experience in livestock, agriculture, and the agribusiness sector. High-ranking officials from the Judicial Branch and the National Assembly attended the ceremony. The presidential delegation, led by President Mulino, then moved to the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica Santa María la Antigua to participate in the ecumenical Te Deum for national holidays, officiated by Metropolitan Archbishop José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta. The celebration schedule for November 3rd continues with the solemn session of the Panama City Council at the Municipal Palace Demetrio H. Brid at 8:30 a.m., while various delegations prepare to begin the parades at 9:30 a.m., celebrating the 122nd anniversary of Panama's separation from Colombia.
