Dr. José Emilio Moreno Ramos received the highest honor in Panamanian education by being decorated with the Order of Octavio Méndez Pereira as Educator of the Year at the Municipal Council of the capital. The Academic Vice-Rector of the University of Panama, Moreno Ramos, stated that this tribute also honors all university students. He has dedicated 33 years to serving Panamanian education and as a scientist, contributing his knowledge. Rector Eduardo Flores also highlighted the prominence of having a professional of his stature. The Order was presented at the Municipal Council during a special ceremony where councilors elected a new board of directors for 2026, with Rodolfo Precilla de Camitillo elected as president.
