Panama Lights Up for Christmas Season

The Christmas season officially kicked off in Panama. On stage, Anyuri, Disco Virtual, Rickyplops, and Baby Karen performed, bringing rhythm and joy to the official start of the season. Simultaneously, 26 Christmas light displays were illuminated across Central, East, and North Panama, bringing a festive spirit to parks, avenues, roundabouts, and community spaces throughout the capital. 'The goal is for every community to experience Christmas close to home, in a safe and family-friendly environment,' expressed Mayor Mizrachi. This year, 15 million lights illuminate the capital city through the 26 sites and parks included by the Panama City Hall in the 2025 City Of Star International Christmas Festival. It is estimated that if all the lighting elements were laid out in a straight line, they would extend for over 600 kilometers. Officials detailed that the economic impact has reached more than 300 people who have worked over 400,000 hours in total between design and installation in recent days. The 2025 City Of Star International Christmas Festival includes a broad program of more than 100 activities, featuring light installations and cultural events. For the first time, the Panama City Hall has included a plan to keep 6 parks permanently open for a year with proper maintenance, so that thousands of national and foreign families can visit and generate income for micro-entrepreneurs. The Christmas Village has made 12 events available to the public, including a large free ice skating rink that will remain open until January 4, 2026. The Panama City Hall informed that the decorations and activities will continue throughout the Christmas season. Mayor Mayer Mizrachi lit up the city of Panama and led the grand lighting of the Christmas tree on the Cinta Costera, a magical show that brought together thousands of Panamanian families. The magic of Christmas arrived with the iconic tree, sponsored by Global Bank, as part of the company's commitment to initiatives that strengthen community connection and the celebration of Panamanian traditions. Additionally, the evening featured cultural and artistic performances that everyone enjoyed.
