This Sunday, November 30th, Christmas illuminated the city of Panama when Mayor Mayer Mizrachi led the grand lighting of the Christmas tree on the Coastal Strip, a magical show that brought together thousands of Panamanian families. This iconic tree was sponsored by Global Bank, as part of the company's commitment to initiatives that strengthen community connection and the celebration of Panamanian traditions. The evening featured cultural and artistic performances that everyone enjoyed. On stage, Anyuri, Disco Virtual, Rickyplops, and Baby Karen shone, bringing rhythm and joy to the official start of the season. Simultaneously, 26 Christmas points across Central, East, and North Panama were lit, bringing a festive spirit to parks, avenues, roundabouts, and community spaces throughout the capital. 'The goal is for each community to experience Christmas close to home, in a safe and family-friendly environment,' expressed Mayor Mizrachi, reaffirming his commitment to fostering experiences that unite the city. This year, some 15 million lights illuminate the capital city through the 26 sites and parks considered by the Municipality of Panama in the 2025 City Of Star International Christmas Festival. This effort represents more than 600 km if each lighting element were laid out in a straight line.
