From December 4 to 14, the National Ballet of Panama and the Panama Philharmonic Orchestra invite the audience to immerse themselves in this enchanting tale, filled with fantasy and the unforgettable music of Tchaikovsky. The production is presented by the Ministry of Culture and the National Theater Board, offering a high-level show that celebrates art and national talent.
Artistic Direction and Cast This edition features the artistic direction of renowned choreographer and former principal dancer David Makhateli. The Nutcracker returns to the National Ballet and the Philharmonic Orchestra at the National Theater of Panama.
The classic Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker, will be presented from December 4 to 14 at the National Theater of Panama, featuring the National Ballet and the Panama Philharmonic Orchestra.
With an extensive international background, Makhateli promises a dazzling, meticulously crafted version created especially for the National Ballet of Panama. The main cast of the company includes Melissa Gaona and Satoko Konishi, along with prominent figures such as Solieh Samudio, Yair Castro, and Edgar Santamaría. They are joined by guest dancer Ciro Tamayo, a principal dancer of the National Ballet of Sorde from Uruguay.

Special Shows Open to the Public To share the magic of the ballet with the entire community, The Nutcracker will extend its run beyond the National Theater. Young talents will participate in two special shows called "The Young Cast Nights".
Live Music and Ticket Sales Each performance will be enriched by the live music of the Panama Philharmonic Orchestra, which will fill the National Theater hall with the memorable notes composed by Tchaikovsky. Tickets for the shows at the National Theater are now available for purchase through the PANATICKETS platform.
Two special free shows open to the public have been scheduled:
December 17: Center of Art and Culture of Colón (CACCO). December 19: Plaza Catedral, in the heart of the Casco Viejo of Panama City.
These performances aim to be an artistic gift to the community, closing the year with the beauty of movement, music, and tradition. Principal soloists Ayira Adames and Julieta del Castillo will also take on main roles, integrating the young promise Anna Sofía Calvo into this impressive cast. A distinctive feature of the season is the inclusion of girls, boys, and young people from various academies in the country, who were selected through an official audition.
