At least two people lost their lives last night in various traffic accidents that occurred in the province of Panama.
The most tragic incident occurred in the Guna Nega area, in the district of Ancon (capital city), where two people died after being run over by a vehicle between kilometer 4 and 5 of the Panama-Colón highway.
Another fatal hit-and-run case was reported on Domingo Diaz Avenue, near the entrance to Las Acacias, located in the Don Bosco district.
The driver of the van involved in this fatal traffic accident remained at the scene, while the victim's body lay a couple of meters behind the vehicle.
Drivers who daily travel this important highway in the capital city say that more lighting is needed, as many people carelessly cross the road at night at that point, and sometimes they are seen only when they are already right in front of them.
