On Wednesday afternoon, an armed attack carried out by a motorized individual left two people with minor injuries on Brazil Street, in the El Carmen area, just a few meters from the campus of the Institute for the Training and Utilization of Human Resources (Ifarhu). According to eyewitness accounts, the assailant's main target was a windshield cleaner who was at the traffic light. The gunman, who had a hidden firearm in a folder, got off his motorcycle and shot the victim, with the bullet hitting one of his hands. As a result, the victim required urgent transfer to Santo Tomás Hospital by paramedics. As a consequence of the attack, an elderly woman who was passing by at the time of the events was struck by a stray bullet and received medical attention at the scene. The incident caused panic among drivers and pedestrians circulating in this busy area in the afternoon.
"The attack happened very quickly. We heard the shot and saw a man on a motorcycle shoot at the man washing the windows," one witness recounted.
