The Ministry of Culture of Panama has published a new cultural agenda, offering a wide range of artistic, educational, and traditional activities for the public from December 26, 2025, to early January 2026. This program is part of the National Plan for Cultures and aims to encourage citizen participation. The December programming is highlighted by a strong presence of performing arts. The play 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' is being performed at the Center for Art and Culture of Colón until December 31, while 'The Grinch' offers shows at MiTe-Atro Studio in Obarrio until December 28. Other productions include 'Santa Arrived in the City' at the Metropolitan Theater and 'The Little Donkey from Sabanero' at the Aba Theater. In the visual arts, the Juan Manuel Cedeño Gallery in the Old Town hosts the collective exhibition 'Senses' until December 31. Meanwhile, the National Library of Panama maintains the documentary exhibition 'Invasion 1989', and the Museum of the Mola presents 'The Nativity in Molas'. Music takes a leading role with the 'Christmas Sessions' at the Aurea Baby Torrijos Theater in the City of the Arts, where the 'Big Band and Friends' will also perform. The Network of Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Panama organizes gala concerts in various locations, including the San Juan Bautista Church in Antón and the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-day Saints for the Azuero module. Regional festivities include Christmas parades on the main streets of Penonomé on December 27 and 28. For New Year's Eve, a party is scheduled at the Esplanade of the Casco Viejo on December 31. With the arrival of the new year, the agenda shifts towards outdoor activities and folk traditions. On January 2, the Canajagua Folkloric Encounter begins in Macaracas, Los Santos province, which will run until January 6 and include a cart parade on January 4. For children and youth, applications are open for instructors for the Summer 2026 program in music, theater, and plastic arts. The Biomuseo will hold its first 'birdwatching' event of the year on January 4, while Parque Omar will host 'Full Moon of Drums' on the same day.
