Pedestrian Zone Attracts 700,000 People and $14 Million

According to statistics from the Panama City Municipality, by the end of 2025, the Pedestrian Zone brought nearly 700,000 people to its streets and injected an economic boost of around $14 million. Each event added to the crowd: families, young people, tourists, local residents, and the curious who came just to walk, grab a bite, or see what was happening. Between March and December 2025, the program held 10 editions, recording an accumulated attendance of approximately 700,000 people. This was the result of a sustained agenda of cultural, community, and recreational activities that attracted residents, visitors, and tourists, consolidating the Casco Antiguo as an active, safe, and dynamic meeting point. The Municipality indicates that this economic flow was distributed among restaurants, eateries, bars, small businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and tour guides. These are people who live day by day and found in the Pedestrian Zone an opportunity to sell, showcase themselves, and get through the year. The Municipality states that the Pedestrian Zone has become one of the strongest citizen activities of the year and that it will continue to bet on the recovery of public spaces.
