Throughout the month, the public will be able to enjoy shows for the whole family, memorable concerts, and one of the most emblematic works of the classical ballet repertoire.
Family and Historical Productions The National Theater Board presents the last two performances of “The Historic Adventures of the Termite and the Librarian with The Great Book of Pirates” on Sunday, March 1st. This activity allows visitors to learn about the backstage and the history of the building before a recital of classical pieces from the sacred repertoire.
Classical Ballet Season To close the month, the Ministry of Culture and the Board present “Swan Lake” on March 27, 28, and 29. The event honors the memory and dignity of the Dule people through music and scenic movement, connecting the audience with a transcendent episode of Panamanian history.
Major Concerts and Classical Music On March 4th and 5th, “THIS GREAT CONCERT” returns, under the direction of Jossie Jiménez and with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Swan Lake and gala concerts come to the National Theater this month. The iconic venue offers a diverse program that includes classical ballet, sacred music, and historical commemorations for the whole family.
The production features the voices of Gaby Gnazzo, Nicole Puga, Mayra Hurley, Juan Diego Araúz, and José Berastegui, who will interpret hits from the musical library. Classical music will have its place on March 10th with the presentation of pianist David García, winner of the Panama Piano Competition 2025. The soloist will be accompanied by the Isthmus Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Carlos Alexander Guevara, to perform Mozart's Concert K 271.
National Identity and Sacred Music On March 18th and 19th, Voice Art presents “Panamanian Fantasy,” an experience that exalts cultural roots with the participation of the National Ballet of Panama, the Elisa de Céspedes Folkloric Ballet, and soloists such as tenor Ulises Athanasiadis and soprano Sofía Cohen. Subsequently, on March 21st, as part of Holy Week in the Casco Antiguo, “An Experience of Sacred Music” will take place. With this work of love and redemption, the National Ballet begins its 2026 season, inviting the public to rediscover the magic of classical dance on the country's most emblematic stage.
This staging explores historical episodes through humor and fantasy, turning past events into an accessible experience for all audiences. Likewise, on March 7th, the Board and the Dule Community present “DILLANII,” an artistic commemoration of the signing of the 1925 Peace Treaty.
