Hollywood Acting Workshop Comes to Panama

The Panama Audiovisual Rights Association (ASDAP) reaffirms its commitment to the professionalization of national interpreters by bringing an intensive workshop based on the Susan Batson method to the country for the first time. This acting technique is used by Hollywood stars such as Nicole Kidman, Juliette Binoche, and Oprah Winfrey.

The workshop, to be held from March 4th to 8th at the Artemisa venue, will be led by renowned Spanish actress and teacher Arantxa de Juan, the leading exponent of this method in the Spanish-speaking world. This initiative is part of ASDAP's training commission's strategic actions, aimed at raising the technical standards of local talent and positioning it competitively in international markets.

The Susan Batson method distinguishes itself by moving away from superficial imitation to focus on the actor's emotional truth. "This workshop represents our commitment to the continuous professionalization of our members. Through concepts such as the 'Tragic Need,' 'Public Need,' and 'Personal Trauma,' this technique allows the actor to organically connect with the character from their own essence and vulnerability, generating authentic and three-dimensional interpretations," stated the association's leadership.

Arantxa de Juan, who directs the prestigious "Central de Cine" school in Madrid, has an outstanding career in Spanish productions such as "Amar en tiempos revueltos" and "A las 11 en casa," as well as in international cinema. She received the award for Best Leading Actress at the Los Angeles Film Awards for her work in "Todos cambiamos."

"We want Panamanian interpreters to compete with the most demanding standards at a global level and have access to the same tools used by world-class actors," the association's leadership noted.

This activity is designed for professional actors seeking to deepen advanced acting techniques and expand their expressive resources.

The workshop will take place at Artemisa, Soho Mall, Panama City, from March 4th to 8th, 2026, during the following hours: · Wednesday 4, Thursday 5, and Friday 6: 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. · Saturday 7 and Sunday 8: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
