Lifetime announced the premiere of "Peace Peace Now Now," a documentary miniseries of four impactful stories about women who faced and survived various armed conflicts in Latin America. To commemorate International Women's Day, the series showcases stories of resilience, justice, and personal transformation. Led by an all-female team including Javiera García Huidobro (Chile), Ignacia Matus (Colombia), Pepa San Martín (Guatemala), and Isabel Coixet (Mexico), the series highlights how these women reorganized and built a community based on solidarity after losing their homes and loved ones. In Guatemala, actress Yalitza Aparicio accompanies the "Grandmothers of Sepur Zarco," indigenous women who survived one of the longest civil wars in Latin America. The actress travels to the Turbaco area to tell the story of "The City of Women," a town founded and built exclusively by women displaced by the violence of guerrillas and paramilitary groups. Titled "The Women of the Earth," this chapter exposes decades of abuse and the tireless struggle of these protagonists for truth, justice, and historical reparations in human rights. Finally, the episode filmed in Mexico features Ester Expósito accompanying journalist and activist Lydia Cacho. The series is narrated by prominent international figures such as Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio, Scottish singer Shirley Manson, Spanish actress Ester Expósito, and Chilean actress Daniela Vega, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Jaime Villarreal. The episode set in Chile addresses one of the darkest periods in the country's recent history through the story of "La Cueca Sola." With Garbage vocalist Shirley Manson, the miniseries reconstructs the journey of three women who, after their husbands disappeared during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship, turned the traditional Chilean dance into an act of public protest and a symbol of the fight for human rights. The Colombian episode is hosted by Daniela Vega. The first two episodes will be available on VOD starting March 1, while episodes 3 and 4 will be released on March 8, remaining on the On Demand platform until April 30. After its run on Lifetime, the series will be available on the official History YouTube channel.
