Canal Museum Unveils March Cultural Agenda

The Canal Museum presents its cultural agenda for the month of March

The Canal Museum, located in the Casco Antiguo, has announced its public program for the month of March, which integrates a series of experiences designed for dialogue, memory, and the joint exploration of national history.

The program kicks off this Thursday, March 5th, with the talk «Interrogating the world of Caribbean workers on the Panama Canal,» led by Dr. Julie Greene. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the museum's auditorium and is free to attend. It will address the impact of Caribbean workers on the construction of the canal.

Starting Wednesday, March 18th, the Canal Museum will open to the public the temporary exhibition «Mr. Brown's Garden,» by American artist Tova Katzman. This show presents an audiovisual archive collected between 2017 and 2025 that documents the life of Anselmo González Brown, an Afro-Caribbean man who transformed a vacant lot in the Diablo area into a refuge for medicinal plants and fruit trees after the canal's handover. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on personal sovereignty in the face of global trade.

To close the monthly programming, on Saturday, March 28th, the event «LateNights VOL.12 Naitafón» will return starting at 6:00 p.m. This activity aims to connect the community through music and living memory in a unique nighttime atmosphere. The organization has announced a special presale until March 6th, allowing the purchase of a second ticket at half price through the physical box office or digital payments.

With these initiatives, the Canal Museum reaffirms its commitment as a space for community gathering and historical dissemination, providing digital tools such as live streaming on YouTube for its academic lectures and maintaining an active presence on social media to follow its calendar.
