A massive fire broke out around 4:00 p.m. on Monday in the area of La Boca, under the Bridge of the Americas. According to preliminary information, at least three tankers exploded, turning the area into a literal hell. The incident left two firefighters with second-degree burns and one person missing. Significant resources were deployed to control the flames. Firefighters confirmed that multiple tankers and tanks were on fire, requiring reinforcements from various stations. Approximately 70 firefighters participated in the operation. Several workers with minor burns were also reported. The injured were hospitalized and are in stable condition. The fire was brought under control, although one tank still contains fuel and is being cooled. More than 70 emergency units remain on site while operations continue to declare the area safe. Large amounts of water and encapsulating agents were used to prevent the fire from spreading. The Bridge of the Americas was temporarily closed but later reopened as the fire's intensity decreased. Aerial operations in the area have also been restored, and traffic through the Panama Canal was not affected. Authorities continue to search for the missing person, suspecting they might be inside one of the burning tankers.
