Joël Soudron, a French national, had been wanted since 2018 for the unauthorized import and transport of narcotics and for his involvement in a criminal organization. He was detained this Monday on Avenida Balboa in Panama City. An international Red Notice triggered an alert in Panama, leading to his capture by local Interpol units and the Linces motorized patrol in the heart of the capital city. He is wanted by the Criminal Court of Créteil, France, to serve a sentence. The 47-year-old from Guadeloupe, who is on his home country's 'most wanted' list, was described by investigators from the National Brigade for the Investigation of Fugitives (BNRF) as a 'very discreet and thoughtful international drug trafficker' who benefits from 'disproportionate financial resources'. According to the Ouest France portal, in 2011, Europol linked him to 230 kg of cocaine from Guadeloupe found in the port of Le Havre.
