The Brazilian athlete Felipe Santos was crowned champion of the IRONMAN 70.3 Panama Latin America TriClub Championship for the third consecutive time, held last Sunday. This is one of the most prominent events on the regional triathlon calendar. Santos achieved a time of 3:48.57 hours, securing his victory over the Italian Giacomo Mevio (second place, 3:56.19) and the French Marc-Antoine Garguet (third place, 4:02.36). In the women's category, the winner was the Paraguayan Susana Guillén with a time of 4:30.37, followed by the Colombian Stefania Ramos (4:33.13) and the Dominican Brenda Schaup (4:33.19). The Panamanian capital hosted the fifth edition of the championship, with over 1,500 athletes from more than 50 countries competing for qualifying spots for the World Championship of the specialty. The competition began with the 1.9 km swimming leg in the waters of the Panama Canal, one of the most emblematic venues in the country and a distinctive attraction within the international franchise circuit. After the swim, the athletes moved to the 90 km cycling route, which connects Calzada de Amador with the Cinta Costera, Vía Israel, and Panama Viejo. The grand event concluded with a 21.1 km running race along Calzada de Amador.
