The National Fencing Association of Panama has announced its team to represent the country at the fourth South American Youth Games. The event will be held in Panama from April 12 to 25. The athletes are training under the guidance of coaches Jorge Valdés and Norberto Vásquez.

Fencing will be one of the 23 sports that will be part of the fourth edition of the South American Youth Games, in which more than 2,000 athletes between the ages of 14 and 17 will participate. The South American Youth Games are a multidisciplinary sporting event organized by the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR). Fencing is another of the sports that will be part of the fourth edition of the South American Youth Games, which will be held in Panama from April 12 to 25. The National Fencing Association recently revealed its selection that will represent Panama in these regional sporting games. In the Épée modality, the selected athletes are Caleb Caldito Chan and Itza Castillo Gouldbourne. For their part, Erick Sanjur Gómez and Nayarit Allen Romero will compete in the Sabre specialty, while in Foil, the athletes Néstor Abdiel Sánchez and Ericka Lorena González will see action. Panamanian athletes have been preparing by strengthening their physical preparation with specific exercises that improve their performance and conditioning, which allows them to develop power, balance, and endurance, among other qualities. The training sessions have been in charge of the technical director and épée coach, Jorge Valdés, as well as the specialist coach for sabre and foil, Norberto Vásquez.
