In Panama, at the Santiago Cathedral, a solemn ceremony was held to ordain three priests and one deacon. The Bishop of Veraguas, Monsignor Audilio Aguilar, presided over the event. The new clergy called on young people with a religious vocation to approach the Church and seek paths of formation that will allow them to serve both the Catholic community and society in general. One of the newly ordained priests, Cristian Pineda Gutiérrez, emphasized the need to promote the religious vocation among the youth. The bishop expressed visible joy that the arrival of new servants is a sign of hope for the Catholic community. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the evangelizing mission in a society that “needs spiritual guidance and values to guide its path”. The liturgy, rich in symbolism and tradition, brought together family members, parishioners, and representatives of various parish communities to support the new servants of the Church. They all agreed that pastoral work requires dedication, preparation, and a profound spiritual commitment. “It is a joy for everyone when there are men willing to serve God, especially now that we live in a society that must be oriented towards the hand of the Lord,” it was noted. “It is important to cultivate in young people the call to service, to form new deacons and priests who will contribute to the education and guidance of society and future generations,” they affirmed.
