Panamanian Champion Changes Strategy Ahead of Fight in Santiago de Veraguas

Nataly Delgado changes her opponent and strategy to defend her WBA super flyweight world title. She will face Mexican Arlén Sánchez at a boxing event in Santiago de Veraguas.

The champion's trainer and husband, Julio César Archibold, admitted the fight plans have changed. The Panamanian champion has changed her strategy to defend her interim World Boxing Association (WBA) super flyweight (115 lbs) title when she faces Mexican Arlenn "La Torita" Sánchez this Saturday (tomorrow) in Santiago de Veraguas.

Ronal "El Gallito" Batista (16-4, 10 KOs) will face Leroy "Sensacional" Estrada (18-5, 8 KOs).

"The Venezuelan is a technical boxer who moves around the ring more, while the Mexican is a fighter who pressures more and looks for the fight," Archibold previewed.

Nataly Delgado was scheduled to face Venezuelan Yoselin Fernández, but due to documentation issues with the South American country, she was unable to travel, and Sánchez will take her place instead. The Mexican has a record of 8-7-4 (1 KO), while Delgado holds a record of 18-7-5 (5 KOs).

The official weigh-in for the Boxing Challenge card will be held at the Hotel Gran David in Santiago de Veraguas, the fight venue, and will take place today at 1:00 p.m.

In the co-main event of the boxing card, the undefeated Veragüense Maximiliano Bonilla (8-0, 8 KOs) will face Colombian Jhoyner Cervera (7-3-1, 6 KOs) in an 8-round bout at 126 lbs. Meanwhile, Iker Canto (1-0) will fight against Víctor Rodríguez with a record of 0-2. Roy Hernández (3-1, 0 KOs) will step into the ring against Adrián Morales (0-2).

Archibold adds that his "protege" has faced this type of opponent before and is prepared for the fight.
