University of Panama Sees Fivefold Growth in Scientific Publications

The University of Panama has experienced a constant growth in its scientific production indexed in the Scopus database over the last decade. In 2016, 54 published documents were registered, while in 2025, the institution reached 260 indexed documents, which represents almost five times the production of 2016. This increase reflects the strengthening of research, the promotion of publications in high-impact journals, and the commitment of our teachers to the generation of knowledge. On this matter, Dr. Eduardo Flores Castro stated: 'The University of Panama does not compete with anyone; its commitment is to continuously improve and strengthen, day by day, its contributions to the development of the national and international community'. It is important to highlight that Scopus, a database from the company Elsevier, gathers peer-reviewed academic literature and quality web content. Additionally, it offers advanced tools for tracking, analyzing, and visualizing research, allowing searches by author, by affiliation, and specialized queries for expert users.
