In Barrios Unidos, the community didn't just come out to parade on November 28: they came to say 'we are here and we produce'. Minister of Commerce and Industry, Julio Moltó, reaffirmed that this land has its own weight: salt, fishing, seafood, and sugarcane, activities that have driven the local economy and supported hundreds of families for decades. 'This community has pushed the country forward with its silent but constant work,' said the minister, who was the flag bearer of the November 28 parade. The minister also thanked the invitation from the President of the Assembly, Jorge Herrera, a son of the district, who emphasized that November 28 is not just a date on the calendar, but a reminder of the identity that Barrios Unidos continues to defend. 'This town formed me and still marks what we are as a community,' expressed Herrera. During the event, Representative Francisco Jaén presented Moltó with a recognition for his career and contributions to the economic sector, a gesture that was applauded by the people present. The day closed with cultural performances and a parade where institutions, educational centers, and local groups marched under a single message: Barrios Unidos not only celebrates, but also produces and contributes.
