American actor Mark Wahlberg plays an aerial pilot in his new movie 'Flight Risk', directed by Mel Gibson. Although he revealed in an interview with EFE that, despite his role in the film, he does not actually enjoy flying and performs a ritual every time he boards a plane.

"I always bless myself, touch the outside of the plane when I get in, and say a little prayer during takeoff and landing," confessed the 53-year-old actor. Despite having some negative experiences on past flights that he prefers not to remember, Wahlberg brings life to the character 'Daryl', the pilot responsible for taking General Madelyn, played by Michelle Dockery, and Winston, a fugitive played by Topher Grace, through inhospitable Alaska to testify in a trial in Anchorage. However, they soon discover that at 3,000 meters high there is no possible escape.

The film, which premieres on January 24, unfolds a plot full of secrets and action that boils down to a conversation among the three main characters inside a small plane. Wahlberg described the experience of shooting in a single setting as somewhat claustrophobic and tedious, although fun due to the fast-paced nature of the filming, which took place in just 22 days.

The actor highlighted the quality of the material, the actors, and the incredible work of the director, elements that exceeded his expectations when he saw the finished film on the big screen. Wahlberg shared that working with Mel Gibson as director for the first time was a phenomenal experience, praising the creativity and atmosphere that Gibson created on set, allowing everyone to perform at their best.

'Amenaza en el Aire' also marks the reunion between Wahlberg and Gibson, after working together on 'Father Stu'. Mel Gibson, impressed by the script by Jared Rosenberg, expressed his interest in the project due to its terrifying character and the combination of elements that he found charming.
