Total Lunar Eclipse Lights Up Panama

The total lunar eclipse was visible throughout Panama without the need for special equipment. The Moon turned red and illuminated the night sky of Panama.

The astronomical phenomenon, which occurred when the Earth positioned itself between the Sun and the Moon, began at 2:47 a.m., reaching its peak around 4:11 a.m. Panamanians had the opportunity to witness how the Moon acquired a reddish hue due to the refraction of sunlight passing through the Earth's atmosphere.

Total lunar eclipses usually happen two or three times a year and can be observed from all regions where it is nighttime. In the case of Panama, the astronomical event was fully visible, allowing residents to enjoy this natural spectacle without the need to use telescopes or other special equipment.

"It’s a magical moment when the Moon reveals its beauty in a reddish tone. It’s an event that connects us with the cosmos and invites us to reflect on our existence in the universe," commented a local astronomer.
