This Saturday, La Cabima once again heard the sound of lead, the one that makes people hide before asking what happened. A man sitting in a taxi at a square in one of the sectors ended up shot dead, just like that, without warning or conversation. Those who witnessed the moment say the taxi was there, still, like any other, when a car appeared, rolled down the window, and fired shots. No one had time to react. Injured and staggering, the man got out of the taxi, perhaps looking for help, perhaps looking for air, but he didn't get far. He collapsed onto the pavement and lay there, sprawled in his own blood, as onlookers approached fearfully and cell phones began to record what was already beyond remedy. Afterwards, the National Police and the Public Ministry arrived at the scene to collect casings, inspect the vehicle, and recover the body. Another murder added to a month that already accumulates 19 homicides in just 15 days. A month that, instead of cooling down, is igniting as if the street is calling for war.
