Access Restored to Los Quetzales Trail in Volcán Barú National Park

The Ministry of Environment reported that access to the Los Quetzales Trail in Volcán Barú National Park, in Chiriquí, has been restored. The trail, which was closed due to the collapse of six trees, is once again open to visitors as of 5:00 a.m. on November 28th. MiAmbiente explained that the measure was adopted due to the collapse of six trees along the trail, which were obstructing the path and posing a risk to visitors' safety. "The cleaning tasks carried out on the trail guarantee the optimal conditions and safety levels required to receive visitors this weekend," MiAmbiente specifies. However, the entity detailed that the rapid intervention of park rangers and the technical staff of the Protected Areas Section allowed for the clearing of the affected sections of the trail.
