Chitré's Viaduct Finally Opens

After years of waiting and construction, the Chitré interchange viaduct in Panama is finally set to open on December 4th, bringing much-needed relief to thousands of residents and drivers.

Chitré's Viaduct Finally Opens

After so many requests, detours, delays and patience, the Chitré community will finally see the viaduct of the interchange enabled, a project that seemed eternal but today begins to become a reality for those who walk and drive this hot and hard-working land.

This stretch, located on Avenida Roberto Ramírez De Diego, better known as the Circunvalación, will allow traffic to flow more calmly, with less stress and without that traffic knot that has accompanied us for years.

The MOP announced that the opening will be on Thursday, December 4, starting at 9:00 a.m., a day that many had marked on their calendars for a long time.

People on the street are saying it clearly, with relief on their faces:

"We have been waiting for over eight or nine years for this project, and finally we see real progress, let's hope this opening is not postponed again," commented Carlos Sánchez, a trucker who knows this route almost by heart.

Although the work is not 100% complete, the enabling of the viaduct is a breath of fresh air for thousands of users who move through this sector daily, where the final signage work is already being carried out to ensure a safer and more orderly flow.

And this viaduct, more than concrete, carries years of hope, honks, engines and people who never stopped waiting.

The Ministry of Public Works recognized the discomfort generated during the process, but thanked the patience of the people who, despite the inconveniences, kept rolling, moving forward, and believing that this day would come.

Today, that day has a date and time.

Chitré is paving its way.
