Shooting in Colón province: two injured

Two people were injured in a shooting on Panama's Atlantic coast in the Colón province. Police and the Public Ministry are investigating the incidents that occurred over the weekend.


On Monday, a shooting left two people injured, prompting an investigation by police intelligence and the Public Ministry in the province of Colón, during this long Mother's Day weekend.

The first violent incident occurred on Sunday night in the Las Acacias area of the Villa del Caribe community, Cristóbal Este district, where a 29-year-old man, Ignacio Gómez, was attacked.

The second violent incident took place in the multifamily complex 'Jehovah is My Shepherd' in the Los Lagos community, also in the Cristóbal Este district. A man was wounded in his left calf by a gunman. At the time of the attack, he was on Calle Cuarta when subjects arrived unexpectedly and began shooting, hitting him in different parts of his body.

The injured person, known as 'Pulpo', was transferred to the emergency room to be treated by the attending physicians.

An investigation remains open for these violent cases that occurred on Sunday on the Atlantic coast.
