Colon Province Leads in National Rescue Drills

The fifth National Volunteer Encounter of the Civil Protection System was held in Colon Province, which took first place in water rescue operations. 350 volunteers from across the country participated.


This weekend, the fifth National Volunteer Performance and Skill Encounter of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) took place, with various field exercises in different areas of the Escobal district, located on the shores of Lake Gatun in the province of Colon. This event aims to reaffirm the commitment, preparation, and dedication of volunteers who strengthen the country's capacity to respond to emergencies. In these exercises, which require effort and team discipline, 350 volunteers from different parts of the country came together to put their knowledge into practice. In water rescue operations, the province of Colon took first place, followed by Panama West, and in third place was Darien. In search and rescue, first place also went to the province of Colon, second to Chiriquí, and third to Chiriquí. This security entity is not only composed of officials but also by volunteer personnel who contribute their knowledge in emergency situations to help the population during disasters.
