From January 7 to 11, 2026, the municipalities of Panama City, San Miguelito, Arraiján, La Chorrera, and Colón, together with MiAmbiente and the Urban and Household Sanitation Authority (AAUD), will launch a campaign to ensure Christmas trees are either left in the streets or responsibly burned outdoors. Collected trees will be processed by specialized companies and turned into compost and other by‑products used for soil recovery and circular economy initiatives.
