Panamanian singer-songwriter and actor Rubén Blades, a multiple award winner including Grammys, announced that 2027 will be his "last active year" on tour. He plans to settle more permanently in Panama by 2028 at the latest. This year, he plans to tour Europe with his Roberto Delgado band for "one last time to enjoy their company there." Blades also mentioned working on two salsa albums with Roberto Delgado and another 'Mixtura' style album with his colleague and producer Luis Enrique Becerra. In March, he will begin filming the movie 'Armadillo United' with Antonio Banderas, Danay García, Danny Trejo, and his wife, Luba Mason. In addition to his music career, he is preparing a complete edition of all his song lyrics with explanations, as well as a series of short stories set in the fictional place 'Hispania'.
