Nadilis Salazar was crowned as the queen of the carnivals in Palenque, in the district of Santa Isabel, in Costa Arriba of the Colón province. Nadilis invited the citizens to join her during these days of the town's festival in her coastal town. The festival in Costa Arriba consists of the popular 'mojaderas', the queen's parade, and the Congo dance. Attendees can take advantage of these festival days to swim on its beaches and try the delicious seafood dishes.
On the other hand, inspectors from the Sanitation Directorate and the National Directorate of Food Control and Veterinary Surveillance (DINACAVV) of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), during these carnivals in Costa Arriba, Colón, detected street vendors without the corresponding permit. Along the parade route, documentation (food handler's permit) was requested and it was detected that three people had none of the permits, so they were immediately removed from the area.
Regarding the inspection of fixed food sales premises, the owner of one of the premises was cited and was referred to the Portobello Health Center to be fined for the lack of the green permit for his food handlers. In the fixed stalls, the inspection revealed that four food handlers did not have any permit to sell food products at the carnival events in Costa Arriba, Colón.
The water tank trucks used in the mojaderas were also inspected, and they met the adequate chlorine level.
