A total of 360 emergencies have been attended nationwide by 11:00 a.m. this Monday during Carnival by units of the Meritorious Fire Corps of the Republic of Panama, as part of the operational deployment established in the Guardians 2026 Plan. The operation involves 1,286 operational units, working in coordination on prevention, surveillance, and immediate response tasks, strengthening institutional capacity during the festivities of Carnival 2026. Among the most relevant emergencies handled are 93 cases of bee control, 88 vegetation fires (IMAVE), and 43 traffic accidents, as well as the response to five structural fires and five vehicle fires. Additionally, 37 pre-hospital care services have been provided, offering immediate and timely assistance to affected individuals across the country. In the prevention component, the National Directorate of Fire Safety, Prevention, and Investigation (Dinasepi) has conducted 1,836 technical inspections of temporary structures and activity points, verifying sales booths, water tanks, stages, electrical generators, and floats, ensuring compliance with safety standards and reducing risks to the public. Fire units remain deployed in strategic coverage areas, including highways, beaches, water parks, and sites of large public gatherings, to prevent emergencies and guarantee public safety.
