With a commitment to a safe and organized transfer, the Ministry of Education (Meduca), in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and the SENAN, will begin the mobilization of approximately 1,697 teachers to the Ngäbe Buglé, Guna Yala, Emberá Wounaan regions, and the provinces of Darién and Bocas del Toro, marking the start of the 2026 school year. In the Ngäbe Buglé region, 331 teachers will depart by land from Veraguas, Changuinola, and Chiriquí, and then continue by air from Kankintú to their communities on February 21, 22, and 23. In Guna Yala, 464 educators will depart from Albrook, Vista Alegre, and December 24 to the Nicanor Air Base in Metetí on the same dates. In the province of Darién, 67 teachers from Jaque and Piña will be transferred on February 24 from Albrook to Metetí, while 255 educators from zones 4, 6, 7, and circuit 3 will travel on February 21 to Puerto Quimba and Yaviza, combining land and water transport. The Emberá Wounaan region will mobilize 195 teachers from Albrook to Puerto Quimba, Lajas Blancas, and Yaviza. Meanwhile, Bocas del Toro will transfer 385 teachers from Albrook, Veraguas, and Chiriquí to Chiriquí Grande and Changuinola. The transfer is carried out in compliance with all safety regulations, insurance, and necessary coverage to guarantee the safe transport of all teachers.

Panama's Ministry of Education, in collaboration with security forces, begins the large-scale transfer of over 1,600 teachers to remote regions of the country for the start of the 2026 school year.
