Panama - A multiple collision left a total of 16 injured, reported this Wednesday morning on the Inter-American Highway, at the height of the Calesa company facilities, located in the district of Natá, province of Coclé, heading towards the capital city. Preliminarily, it has been reported that in this traffic incident, which occurred around 9:30 a.m., two passenger buses, a white pickup truck, and an SUV are involved. According to witnesses, the bus on the Chitré–Panama route hit the 4x4, which caused a chain collision with the SUV and the other bus from Santiago-Panama. The affected individuals were traveling on the Chitré–Panama bus, and according to the Fire Department, whose units arrived at the scene, all are in stable condition. In the Chitré bus, there were 24 people, in the Santiago bus 11, in the pickup 3, and in the SUV only the driver was present. Paramedics from the Unified Emergency Management System (SUME), along with Fire Department units, provided pre-hospital care to the injured. For the moment, only 7 people required transfer to a nearby medical center for evaluation, while another decided to wait for a private ambulance that took him to the hospital in Veraguas.
