The Panamanian Chamber of Information Technology, Innovation and Telecommunications (CAPATEC) celebrated its annual technology event Disrupt It 2024 on its 20th Anniversary. The central theme this year was Artificial Intelligence.
Dany Yaker, President of CAPATEC, emphasized that Disrupt It is a space that brings together various actors from the innovation, technology, and business ecosystem in Panama. In recent years, over 4,000 participants, including government leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, and startups, have joined the event. Additionally, it has featured more than 25 prominent speakers at national and international levels.
Yaker mentioned that CAPATEC has achieved significant goals throughout its history, such as promoting the Innovation and Technology Ecosystem, the Panama HUB Digital Strategy, the digitization of companies, identifying business opportunities, and keeping participants updated on key technological topics.
Disrupt It 2024 featured three thematic conferences led by experts, such as "The Trends and Future of AI" by Glenn Tjon, "Xponential Skills to Lead AI" by Sergio Méndez, and "How AI Disrupts Our Day to Day" by Dr. Ludivina Facundo.
The event also included a space called AI DEMO ZONE where the latest innovations in Artificial Intelligence in Panama were showcased for attendees to experience. There were two expert panels, one on the implementation of AI in business and another on AI governance with leaders from the public and private sectors of Panama.
Additionally, a Fireside Chat on "Startups Harnessing the Power of AI" took place and concluded with a networking bash with all participants. Dany Yaker thanked institutions like SENACYT, PROPANAMA, ITSE, companies like ARPIA, VISA, DELL TECHNOLOGIES, CABLE & WIRELESS, SAMAN GROUP, and strategic allies like AES and the CITY OF KNOWLEDGE FOUNDATION for making Disrupt It 2024 possible and continuing to promote technological trends and innovations in Panama.
