A citizen's alert received via the 104 hotline led to the discovery of a newborn abandoned near the IDAAN water reserve tanks in the Tinajitas area, Omar Torrijos district. Following the alert, police units rushed to the scene and transported the baby to the Dr. Generoso Guardia Polyclinic, where she was attended to by medical staff. According to the National Police, medical staff reported that the infant, who was approximately four hours old, was in stable condition. Authorities have stated that they have launched the necessary investigations to clarify this incident and reiterate their firm commitment to protecting the life and integrity of the most vulnerable.
