A man attacked his partner and her child in Panama. The incident occurred on December 5th in the city of Colón, in the Barrio Norte district. Everything started with an argument, after which a 47-year-old man, using a sharp weapon, attacked his romantic partner to prevent her from leaving him. The aggression also extended to the woman's minor child. The National Police intervened and arrested the attacker after the assault on both victims. He was presented before a judge of the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) to initiate proceedings for this violent case. During the hearing, the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala requested the Guarantees Court to legalize the apprehension and the formulation of charges for the crime of attempted homicide, which was approved. Additionally, a precautionary measure of provisional detention was applied, as he poses a danger to the victim and her son, in order to protect them from the aggressor. The case is currently being investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala.
