Two other linked doctors, who also no longer work at this medical facility, have an arrest order issued by prosecutors from the Homicide and Personal Integrity Crimes and Freedom Crimes units. The incident under investigation occurred between April 17 and 22, 2021. In August of this year, the Chief Prosecutor for Homicides in West Panama, Luis Alberto Martínez, confirmed 15 cases under investigation for alleged medical negligence involving doctors from this hospital. Three doctors working at the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital in West Panama province will face charges for the crime of negligent homicide, after a young man who was admitted to this hospital with a fever and headaches died due to medical negligence. The three doctors were charged during a hearing held at the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) of West Panama province. During the hearing, the guarantees judge ordered the precautionary measure of suspension of duty for two of these doctors.
