Just hours before the end of 2025, residents of the Río Alejandro community in the corregimiento of Puerto Pilón, Colón province, were surprised to observe the body of a fetus in a ditch in this populous area. In the ditch, the tiny body was seen among the wastewater, as if it were trash, in the presence of adults and children who were watching this small body forming. Upon seeing the fetus, the residents informed the National Police of the discovery. While the National Police, as the first responders, arrived at the scene, they proceeded to cordon off the entire area. The fetus's body was removed from the wastewater ditch and transported to the judicial morgue in the city of Colón. An investigation into this macabre discovery has begun.
