Panama Will Appeal WTO Report

The Government of Panama is dissatisfied with the recommendations of the WTO report on a trade dispute with Costa Rica and plans to appeal.

Panama Will Appeal WTO Report

The Government of Panama has decided to appeal a report from the World Trade Organization (WTO) related to a trade dispute with Costa Rica. According to Panamanian authorities, they believe that the recommendations of the report do not adequately protect the interests and rights of the country in this conflict.

The dispute between Panama and Costa Rica dates back to a series of measures imposed by Costa Rica concerning the importation of textile products, clothing, and footwear from Panama. Following an investigation conducted by the WTO, a report was issued with recommendations on how to resolve the conflict.

Panamanian authorities have expressed their disagreement with the conclusions of the WTO report and have announced that they will appeal this decision. They believe that the recommendations do not address the concerns raised by Panama and do not adequately protect the country's interests in this case.

In the words of a representative of the Government of Panama: "We are convinced that our positions are backed by a solid legal argument and we will continue to defend our interests in this trade dispute with Costa Rica."
