
The Electoral Reform Commission has been established and will meet every Thursday at the headquarters of the Electoral Tribunal. This body will work on the implementation of changes and improvements in the Panamanian electoral system.
One member of the Commission pointed out: "It is essential to strengthen our electoral institutionality to guarantee transparent and democratic processes in the country." This initiative aims to address various aspects of the electoral system, with the objective of promoting citizen participation and the legitimacy of electoral processes.
Among the issues that will be addressed are the reform of electoral laws, the implementation of new technologies in the voting process, and the modernization of oversight mechanisms. The Commission will work in close collaboration with different sectors of society to gather opinions and proposals that contribute to strengthening Panama's electoral system.
This initiative is expected to foster dialogue and cooperation among the various political and social actors, in order to promote greater trust in the electoral system and ensure fair and transparent elections in the country.
