The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Herrera, rated his performance with a score of 4 out of 5, describing the period as 'complex.' He emphasized that he did not form an alliance with the 'Vamos' coalition for another term and has not considered running for re-election as Assembly President. Herrera recalled that they began proposing laws a month after the legislative period began, as a result of the 'reshuffle' in the selection of committees. However, he stated that in the end, they achieved positive results. His focus is on fulfilling his commitments. He added that during this term, there have been no scandals or insults to ministers and officials. 'That is our commitment,' he said. 'Despite starting a month late on the law discussions, we managed to pass more laws than in the last two years under other presidents,' he added during the Telemetro newscast. The deputy also announced that the Board of Directors approved the closure of citizen participation offices in the interior of the country. However, he acknowledged that their use is paid for until 2026, so they will see what benefits they will provide. In this regard, he assured that he is not afraid of removing privileges such as exemptions for vehicle purchases, nor of having to mark deputies' attendance at the Legislative Branch. Herrera reiterated that his main commitments remain the reform of the internal regulations and the reduction of the institution's budget. 'The rules have been put on the table, and what we want is for the Assembly of Deputies to have the best possible credibility,' he concluded.
